8-1 Global Issue – Energy

Energy Issues: Developing countries’ needs will require three times more energy use. There is already an over-consumption and demand. Trees are being cut worldwide, causing wood scarcity, however, humans who need wood for the arts, need to be able to obtain wood for these purposes. Acid rain is an outcome of burning fossil fuels which also is causing global warming with carbon emissions. Major concerns with Dams, for hydroelectricity. Nuclear power can be is a harmful source if built in an earthquake zone by the ocean. (see Japanese Tsunami 5 March 2011 ).

Discussion of Problems – Oil and climate change

Energy Issues:

2. There is already an over-consumption and demand.
3. Trees are being cut worldwide, causing wood scarcity, however, humans who need wood for the arts, need to be able to obtain wood for these purposes.
4. Acid rain is an outcome of burning fossil fuels which also is causing global warming with carbon emissions.
5. Major concerns with Dams, for hydroelectricity.
6. Nuclear power can be is a harmful source if built in an earthquake zone by the ocean. (see Japanese Tsunami 5 March 2011 ).
7. Bio-mass is not a viable energy as it uses arable land and food shortages.
